There will be riders in attendance from all over the
world. The current leaders in Enduro 1 are Juha Salminen, Simone Albergoni,
Cristobal Guerrero and Alessandro Belometti; Enduro 2 are Mika Ahola, Samuli
Aro, Jonny Aubert and Fabien Planet; Enduro 3 are Ivan Cervantes, Marko
Tarkkala, Bjorne Carlsson and Sebastien Guillaume; Junior 2007 are Joakim
Ljunggren, Christophe Nambotin, Tom Sagar and Thomas Oldrati. We are hoping
that David Knight will return to defend his 2006 win and are very anxious for
a David Knight/Juha Salminen face-off. There should be great competition from
the American and Canadian riders as former and current National Enduro
Champions, Mike Lafferty and Russel Bobbit have already entered. There are two
rounds scheduled in North America. Round #5 will take place in Hancock, New
York, located in the beautiful upper Delaware region of New York State.
Hancock has been the long time host of many enduro and dual sport events. The
residents there have always been very warm to the participants and spectators
at these events. After the event in Hancock, the riders will travel to Perry
Sound, Canada for the next round on July 28-29, 2007.
The 2007 event will mark the second time the
World Enduro
Championship has had events in North America. This is an excellent
opportunity for sponsors to experience a terrific event that will attract
motorcycle publications coverage, as well as television coverage. Last year's
event was a blast to watch and we are sure you will love it.The
event will include 4 laps of 30 miles each. All of the checkpoints and Special
Tests will be in one area, which will help make spectator access much more
accessible. The event entrees will be limited to only world-class riders and
will not exceed 150 riders; this insures a media friendly and exciting event
for spectators.The manufacturers team competition
is a big part of the World Enduro Championship series. We welcome all the
American teams to take part; it will consist of 3 members. For 2007, we have
added an exhibition team category for riders in the Junior class (22 years old
and younger) to help encourage participation. It will be called Team Junior
Challenge.
Spectators will be given, for a small cost, a program
and an all-access wristband which will cover parking and entrance to all
spectator areas.
